An upscale new restaurant spot has opened up shop in the neighborhood. Located at 701 Seventh Ave. inside the Times Square Edition Hotel, the new arrival is called 701West.
Eleven stories up, the restaurant offers a three-course, $110 prix fixe menu created by Michelin-starred chef John Fraser. Every server doubles as a sommelier, so they can offer the wine perfect pairing for each course.
Right now, enjoy the menu of sea urchin risotto, warm king crab with daikon in a Chablis-citrus butter, Japanese wagyu with black garlic jam, and orange saffron panna cotta.
The fresh addition has garnered rave reviews thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp.
Carol C., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on April 3, wrote, “A brand new hidden gem in the middle of Times Square! … The food is amazing, best dishes of the night were warm crab for appetizer and the duck breast for the main course. Also highly recommend getting the wine pairing as it is well thought-out and complemented each course just perfectly.”
Yelper Go B. added, “If you miss Dovetail, then you should come here. Excellent service. Highest recommendation. Enjoyed the dinner so much tonight that I already made another reservation for later this week.”
Head on over to check it out: 701West Is open from 5 p.m.–midnight on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday and 5 p.m.–2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
